Like so many baby boomers, Cheri Harte has recreated herself after an early retirement. After teaching English for Fairfax County Schools for 27 years, Cheri retired to Central Pennsylvania, where she has been pursuing a lifelong interest in photography. She is a member of two local photography groups, State College Photo Club and InFocus, a group of women photographers. She has won numerous ribbons from the Photo Club. The winning photographs are displayed on the club website. The In Focus group has had exhibits at the Gamble MIll , Mt Nittany Medical Center, Schlow Library, and Foxdale Nursing Home. Her photographs have been used on the websites of Conklins Antiques, Kidz Rainbow Center, House on the Top of the Hill, and Blue/White Nation. She had photographs on the cover of the Centre County Community Foundation Annual Report of 2003; and her photos were also used in publications for St Paul’s Methodist Church and Alpha Delta Kappa newsletters. She has been the editor and photographer for the Penn State University Women’s Club for the last four years. She also worked locally in the Sears Photography Studio at Nittany Mall in 1999.
